Does Agathon run regular backups? How easy is it to restore a backup?

Agathon runs nightly backups of every server we host. These backups include all files and database contents for each site on your server.

We retain full snapshots of your entire server from:

• The prior 7 days
• The prior 4 weeks (from each backup taken on a Sunday)
• The prior 4 months (from each backup taken on the 1st of the month)

for up to about 120 days of total coverage. From these backup snapshots we are able to restore individual files, WordPress plugin folders, or entire site and database contents as they existed at the time of the snapshot.

Because backup services are only as good as they are accessible, our team is available to restore backups at your request. Maybe you need to restore to an earlier version of a custom WordPress theme from last week, or maybe you need us to set up a copy of your site as it existed 2 months ago. We can make that happen!

Our backups are comprehensive, but if you want an additional layer of backup coverage, you can use a WordPress backup plugin like Updraft Plus, or a backup service like VaultPress.
